Jack Wilbur

Jack Wilbur has sailed over 100,000 nautical miles and has devoted his life to sailing, carpentry and boat building.

This Alajuela 38 truly represents a culmination of all his experience. Jack began this project by locating one of the best blue water cruising hulls ever constructed. This particular hull had never seen the water and was in storage until it’s maiden launch in November 2008. It had been sold as a kit by Alajuela Yachts in 1976 and was primarily a hull.

Jack started from scratch with a raw hull. He made a few design tweaks from the original factory model which really set it apart and optimized its blue water cruising functionality. The quality construction and componentry well exceed any factory’s best efforts.

This one of a kind custom that is sure to provide it’s new owners with many years of enjoyment.
